Pre-loved beauties strut their stuff

Money from ReStore helps support Habitat's goal to provide working families with new, affordable housing

CALGARY HERALD FEBRUARY 6, 2010

With today's tough economy, less has never been more when decorating a home -- and the Calgary

Home and Garden Show has some ideas to make that work for you.

Check out the ReStore Furniture Fashion Show at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at the BMO Centre in

Stampede Park.

Calgary designer Alykhan Velji, who will be presenting several seminars during the show, will be

hosting a furniture fashion show using the best in runway-ready, pre-loved furniture and decor items

from Calgary's ReStore.

It's all about thinking outside the box and creating furniture fashions by recycling -- and in this case,

helping others at the same time.

ReStore is Habitat for Humanity's retail outlet, which sells gently used items for the home donated by

the public.

One of the major donors to ReStore is Home Depot Canada, which provides Habitat for Humanity with

millions of dollars of end-of-the-line, scratch-and-dent, or discontinued products, customer returns, and

paint mis-tints from across Canada.

Money from ReStore helps support Habitat's goal to provide working families with new, affordable

housing through a volunteer program.

ENTER TO WIN

Need to give your yard a makeover, but don't have the cash? Then don't miss out on entering to win

$10,000 in landscaping. See the ballot elsewhere in today's condo section.
