Many Hands Make Light Work Our model is all inclusive - everyone's contribution is appreciated and valued.  The gifts we receive and the reasons they are given as as unique as the people who give them. From a $3 lemonade stand donation from a local child to a home sponsored entirely by one family, our supporters understand that their gifts do more than build houses.  They provide a hopeful future for a family ready to accept a hand-up into affordable homeownership.

Research shows that homeowners are more successful at work and take pride in community involvement.  They vote more, volunteer more and their children do better in school. 

A stable, safe, affordable home makes a difference for everyone in a family.  Parents no longer have to worry about sudden rent increases or unhealthy living conditions.  Children are free to excel at school, no longer concerned that they will need to move regularly.  And for many, a Habitat house is their first opportunity to have a home that they can invite their friends to.

Contributions to Habitat Calgary are invested in building homes for families today and tomorrow.  Habitat homeowners purchase their houses from us through long-term, no-interest mortgages.  Their monthly mortgage payments are re-invested through the 'Fund for Humanity' into future home construction.

As part of our unique sustainability model, 100% of ReStore proceeds cover Habitat Calgary’s administration costs ensuring that all donations to Habitat go directly to the construction of affordable homes for families in need.
