Monklands In Airdrie

News and Events

June 16, 2010 – Habitat for Humanity Calgary held a community Open House on June 16th at the Ralph McCall school in Airdrie to present our revised development concept plan which resulted from a community focus group meeting held on April 21, 2010.

As a result of the valuable feedback received from this group we have revised the concept plan as follows:

  • A total of 31 affordable Habitat for Humanity homes
  • The exterior finishing of all the homes will include architectural features (“Craftsman-inspired”) that blend with the existing residential community

We believe this revised plan incorporates valuable community feedback and aligns with the City of Airdrie’s vision of a vibrant, caring community rich in urban amenities and opportunities for everyone. We have designed and created a community that is sustainable, healthy and inclusive.

We invite you to learn more about the revised Monklands plan and Habitat for Humanity Calgary. Click here to see the detailed presentation that was outlined at the open house. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

April 21, 2010 – Habitat for Humanity Calgary met with a community focus group in Airdrie and we felt that it was a very productive and positive meeting. The focus group was supportive of our proposal and we are looking forward to continued work with the community. They are anxious for us to share our concepts with the community, and we will have information available at the Airdrie Home and Garden Show.

We hope to host a public open house at the Ralph McCall school in June. Please check back here regularly for updates and an announcement of the specific date and location.
