Completed in May, the eight-units built in Mayland Heights NE were formally recognized as Golden Jubilee Gardens during a home dedication event hosted at the complex in June.

In partnership with land & development sponsor, Ismaili Muslim Community of Calgary, and alongside representatives from each of the eight house sponsors, Habitat for Humanity Calgary staff and volunteers were pleased to welcome eight families into their new homes at Golden Jubilee Gardens.

Located in Mayland Heights NE, ground was broken for the four duplexes in March 2008 on land made possible by the City of Calgary.  Support from the Ismaili Muslim Community of Calgary offset the installation of the road and the generosity of house sponsors, material donors and the support of the community made the rest come together.

Speaking at the dedication event were key individuals from each of the eight House Sponsors, including ATB Financial; Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer; Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.; Enerplus, Nexen, CIBC World Markets, Blakes; Financial Management; Lafarge; Midnight Oil Exploration/Daylight Energy Ltd.; TransCanada/The House that Agriculture Built.

Volunteers donated more than 4,000 hours to build the eight homes - elbow to elbow with the eight Partner Families who were fulfilling their sweat-equity commitments and gaining valuable home construction and repair skills.

Thank you to everyone in the community who gave their time, talent and money to make these homes a reality.
