Adopt-A-Day Group Volunteer Program

The Adopt-a-Day Program: An innovative team-building program for groups.

Building homes....Building hope.

Whether your staff or group have never swung a hammer or are already skilled in the construction field, they can all be part of the Adopt-A-Day Program.

Spending a day on a Habitat build is a great way for businesses, corporate groups and organizations to help make the dream of home ownership a reality for families in need. What better way to learn the value of team building, co-operation and leadership skills than by working with your co-workers and peers on a Habitat build.

By participating in a team build, you can make a huge difference in the lives of families in need by offering a ‘hand up' rather than a ‘hand out' while strengthening bonds and learning new skills.

Could a build day be cancelled by Habitat Calgary?

  • Very rarely may we need to reduce your group size or be forced to cancel due to contractor delays, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Every effort is made to avoid this but please ensure that your volunteers are aware of this possibility!  If this is the case, your team will be rescheduled for another build day.

What if a group needs to cancel their build day?

  • HFHC requires 2 weeks' notice in writing for cancellations and refunds.  If a cancellation occurs after the 2 week period, your organization will still be responsible for $200/person donation for each participant booked for that build; and will only qualify for a reschedule date, no refunds.
