Donations are gratefully accepted from individuals and businesses in our community.  Funds raised through the sale of your donated items offsets Habitat for Humanity Calgary administration costs, ensuring every donated dollar is used to build homes. What We Cannot Accept Since waste removal fees divert funds away from families who need the homes we build, we are careful to only accept items that will sell. Coloured appliances (harvest gold, avocado, etc.) Appliances that don't work Small appliances Used carpet and underlay Paint and toxic materials Mattresses, bed frames Hide-A-Beds Old upholstered furniture Clothing or bedding Draperies/curtains/blinds Computers or monitors Small pieces of wood or drywall Fluorescent lights and fix­tures, globe lights or track lighting Ceiling fans Unframed mirrors Used doors (exceptions may apply) Televisions, stereo equipment or other audio/visual electronics Consult the City of Calgary for alternate options for these items. General Donations

If you plan on making a donation to the ReStore there are a few points to keep in mind.

• All donations must be inspected. When you call us for a pick up or to ask about dropping off a donation, the ReStore staff will ask you questions to ascertain whether your donation will help us.

• We cannot accept every donation. Sometimes we are overstocked with certain items and do not have room for them in the store. This means that we may not be able to take your donation at that time.

• We have the right to refuse certain donations. Sometimes donated items are not in good enough condition to be resold. Sometimes they are in good condition but will not sell. We keep track of items that do and do not sell so that we have an idea of what we can accept. Therefore, the ReStore staff have the final say about whether or not we can accept your donation.

Donation Drop-offs

All donations are to be brought to the receiving dock of the ReStore. All donations must be inspected during our normal business hours. Dropping off donations outside of store hours is considered dumping and is subject to a fine by the City of Calgary.  

Donation Pick-ups

Please call us at 403-291-6764 to discuss your donation and arrange for a pick-up time that works for both you and our driver.

We do not move any items from basements or upper storeys. All items must be on the main floor, outside or the garage for the drivers.

All items will be inspected by our driver, and he or she will make the final decision about whether or not we can accept your donation.

Business Donations

Retailers and manufacturers can donate end of line, excess, scratched or discontinued materials, eliminating the need to return materials and reducing the amount of materials sent to the landfill.
